After working in Copenhagen as an interior designer in the 1940s, Illum Wikkelsø moved to a small village south of Aarhus in Denmark and, from a 200 year old farmhouse, began designing furniture.The clean lines and organic forms that Wikkelsø became known for were inspired by this rural landscape, producing pieces of subtle impact and warmth.
