Ross Littell

PLR 1 lounge chair

Ross Littell, a furniture and textile designer, worked extensively with Knoll and Herman Miller in the 1950s and 1960s and was a leader of the American 'Good Design' movement, which drew from the simplicity of Scandinavian design. Littell was also a lifelong student of design, with his studies of mathematics and natural forms influencing his work. This chair, at once iconic of midcentury design, is also specific to Littell’s sensibilities and recalls some of his most famous pieces, including his 1952 'T-Chair' (in the collection of the MoMa) and his 'Criss-Cross' textile pattern designed for Knoll in 1958.
