Robert Rauschenberg
Bubba's Sister (Ruminations)
Bubba’s Sister is part of the print series Ruminations, which features figures and events from Robert Rauschenberg’s childhood. In this instance, these are pictures of Rauschenberg’s older sister, presented as though they were fragments of memories, in sepia and indigo tones. The works in this series are presented in his characteristic graphic, collaged style, but without the dense layering and pop-sensibility he is known for, creating a sparse, intimate mood. Examples of this print are held in the collections of the MET and the National Gallery of Art.
